STRUCTURE OF THIS PAGE

A full description of the structure of the Liberal Democrats is given at the top of this page in order that you can find the level you need to contact as quickly and easily as possible.

The Liberal Democrats are organised on a federal structure with three state parties in England, Scotland and Wales, and a sister party with full State Party status in Nothern Ireland. The Parties in England and Scotland are futher sub-divided into regional parties, each covering a European Parliamentary Region.

At the local level the Party is divided into Local Parties that normally follow Parliamentary Constituency Boundaries and these may have local Branches based on ward, town council or other similar local government boundaries.

Where a local authority contains more than one parliamentary constituency there may also be joint parties, such as the City Party in Manchester, that are delegated specific responsibilities relating to local issues.

There are also a number of Specified Associated Organisations recognised by the Liberal Democrats that provide information, help and support to, for and about their area of interest. These associations are autonomous of the Party, and their members campaign within the party on issues relating to their specified area.

This links page has been subdivided into themed areas. The first being the Liberal Democrats and associated sites.
