Birchfields Primary welcomes Lord Mayor for Seat Belt Campaign

School launches Child Seatbelt Safety Campaign!

On Wednesday 15 June, the Lord Mayor of Manchester will launch the City's new safety campaign at Birchfields Primary School, Lytham Road, Fallowfield.

Rusholme Liberal Democrat Councillor Paul Shannon, who is Chair of Governors at Birchfields Primary, said today:

"Birchfields is one of the biggest Primary Schools in Manchester. With our brand-new Nursery Foundation Unit just opened, we now have around 700 pupils attending school every day. Many come by car with parents, and we all have a duty to ensure that they do so safely and in accordance with the law."

"That's why Birchfields Primary is proud to help the Police and the Council with this excellent Road Safety Campaign."

He continued:

"Head Teacher Mrs Rule and I particularly want to welcome Manchester's Lord Mayor, who is launching the campaign. We are delighted that he is paying a visit to Birchfields, and we hope that our children take his advice to "always wear your seatbelt!"
