John Leech MP supports National Lottery Day celebrations

John Leech MP is delighted to support National Lottery Day that is taking place on Saturday 23 September. A number of celebratory events are taking place across the UK to thank Lottery players who have raised £18.6 billion for good causes over the last 12 years.

John Leech MP said:

"The National Lottery has had a significant impact on communities across the UK and I am delighted to see that Manchester Withington constituency has received 335 grants totalling £15,151,918 in National Lottery funding since the Lottery was launched in 1994. National Lottery Day is an excellent opportunity to remind ourselves of the huge benefit National Lottery funding has brought to our communities."

For every pound spent on The National Lottery 28p goes to good causes. Research has shown that people would like to know more about where their Lottery money has gone and National Lottery Day is a way to raise awareness of all the good things that have been achieved as a result of Lottery funding. So far over 240,000 Lottery grants have been given out across arts, sport, heritage, charities, health, education and the environment. That money has made a real difference to millions of people UK-wide.
