Liberal Democrat Councillors including Lib Dem Leader Councillor Simon Ashley and City Centre Councillor Marc Ramsbottom yesterday joined representatives from the Chinese community to collect signatures opposing Council plans to introduce City Centre parking charges for evenings and Sundays.
Local Councillor Marc Ramsbottom said:
"This will be bad for business in Chinatown and across the City Centre, and will cost City Centre residents extra. The Liberal Democrats are happy to work with the Chinese community to oppose these plans."
