John Leech MP Encourages Mancunian Veterans to Apply for Badge

With National Veterans' Day Celebrations taking place on June 27th, MP for Manchester Withington, John Leech, is urging all those who qualify to apply for their veterans' badge.
"It is important that former servicemen and women apply for the badge so that their hard work and service to the nation is recognised and appreciated," John Leech MP stated.
Contact John Leech MP's office on 0161 434 3334 and an application form will be sent out to you. You will need to supply your name, address, date of birth, service number and details of the service.
Notes to editors:
1. National Veterans' Day celebrations in Manchester on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th June will mark the contribution made by all those who have served in HM Armed Forces whatever their age, background or service experience.
2. The badge is an enamelled, engraved and pinned lapel badge featuring the words 'HM Armed Forces - Veteran' which encompasses the Tri-Service anchor, crossed swords and eagle motif.
3. On Friday 27th June a special service at Manchester Cathedral will be followed by a parade to Albert Square.
4. On Saturday 28th June, a free outdoor celebration with live music, family entertainment and information stalls will take place in Castlefield.
