Manchester City Centre Protest: Lib Dem Reaction7.30.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 10th Oct 2009
Reacting to the news that over 40 arrests had been made following the English Defence League demo in Manchester City Centre, Manchester Lib Dem Leader Simon Ashley said, "I want to thank the police for doing a great job in near impossible circumstances. However, I think the Home Secretary made a mistake in not listening to the Council and banning this protest when he had the chance."
